Chris touches down in Malta in search of the fittest and strongest athlete for a head-to-head showdown. Some are here to win, some are here to have fun, and some are here for both; so, the big question is: who will take home the $500 prize and the title of Fittest Athlete in Malta?
The competition kicks off with a brutal test of balance and core strength. The first challenge is the Handstand Hold and filters out the contenders with the best static control until eight are left. The last two (of the remaining eight) to remain ‘standing’ for the longest time will be team captains for the remaining six. Vlade and Dino rise above the rest to lead their team to the next challenge!
The team breakdown is as follows:
TEAM OLLA OLLA (led by Vlade)
Vlade: Pole fitness instructor, boxer, tattoo artist.
Alessia: Pole dancer, poised and powerful.
Mila: Triple threat: calisthenics, skateboarding, gymnastics.
Alessandro: Seasoned calisthenics athlete and coach.
TEAM HANGMAN (led by Dino)
Dino: Former gymnast turned coach, explosive and precise.
Ali: Ex-gymnast, echoing Dino’s finesse.
Luca: Wrestling meets functional fitness.
Francesco: At 14 years old, the wildcard, with both calisthenics and gymnastics under his belt.
Challenge number two is the Team Pull-up Relay and the struggle is real, but there can be only one winning team and they storm ahead in this pure strength and endurance trial, out-repping the other team to claim their spot in the finals.
This elite group of four will advance to the final challenge: Military Dips. Competing against each other for the ultimate prize. Check out the video to see which one of them will emerge as the ultimate warrior sealing their place as the Fittest Athlete of Malta and the $500 jackpot!
